The School Sports Partnership is a collaboration between 48 schools across the Three Rivers and Watford districts. The Partnership includes infant, primary, MLD, SLD and secondary schools and aims to increase the opportunities for young people to access high quality sport and PE.
Sponsored through the DfE Sports Premium funding, the Three Rivers and Watford School Sports Partnership implements The Sainsbury’s School Games. This is a competition structure which seeks to create an inspirational and motivational setting, providing the elite young sports people with the opportunity to thrive and perform at the highest levels, while encouraging more young people to take part and succeed in sport. Responsibility for the development and organisation of the Sainsbury’s School Games lies with the Youth Sport Trust, whom the Partnership works closely with, along with 11 other school sports partnerships across Hertfordshire.
The Partnership provides excellent opportunities for Leadership and competition throughout all the schools. It enables every child in the partnership schools to take part in competition in the range of sports on offer. The Partnership also run leadership courses for all pupils, from KS1-KS5, which is an integral part of our Partnership; we are regarded as one of the best for sports leaders.
