Music
At Harvey Road, music is seen as a vital part of our curriculum. All children throughout the school participate in music and there are many weekly clubs that help to ensure that children not only enjoy this important area but also develop the wide range of skills necessary to appreciate and perform it.
We take part in many different activities that we are involved with throughout the year.
The Royal Albert Hall
On Sunday 11th March, 22 children from years 5 and 6 went to sing in the Hertfordshire Gala Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. They sang a new piece called ‘If I had Wings’ based on the Greek Myth of Icarus and Daedalus. Michael Rosen was narrating and there was a live illustrator drawing along with the music. It was a fantastic experience!
O2 Young Voices
A group of children went to the O2 to join nearly 8000 other children and sing as part of the Young Voices choir. We sang songs from shows, TV, rock and pop tunes and cultural songs too. There were 64 children who went from our school. It was a fantastic time, and even the parents in the audience were dancing.
