“Having seen the wonderful Nativity we wanted to extend our thanks to you and the team for making this happen. This must be the most challenging of times for you. We feel extremely privileged that we were one of the few schools to have a Nativity. I feel the way you have worked Christmas in the school community has kept normality for the children and a feeling of excitement for the festive period.”

“I am writing to say a huge thank you to you and all of your wonderful staff for everything that you have done this term and throughout the pandemic. It is a very worrying and unsettled time but you have all worked tirelessly to ensure that things are kept as normal as possible for our children whilst keeping them safe and offering them the opportunities and enriching learning experiences that Harvey Road School is renowned for. You have always kept parents up to date with the different practises and procedures that you have in place and this is extremely reassuring. My daughter has loved being back in school”

“Thank you so much for continuing with the Nativity performances and allowing parents to watch. The kids loved it and it was lovely to watch. Really cute! I know of no other school that allowed parents to watch and I really appreciate it. I doubt I can imagine all the Covid decisions you have to make daily and know opening your doors at this time is tricky. Thank you”

“Just to say thank you, all of you are doing such a wonderful job keeping things going at such a bonkers time. As always, the education Miss McKay is giving the children in Year 6, whilst they are at home is phenomenal. Not just the learning, but she is doing such a great job of keeping their spirits up too. I wish we could all have some of her energy and enthusiasm bottled up under the Christmas tree”

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude for all the efforts you and the teachers have taken during this academic year. Although my son has been here for only one year, from day one he joined Harvey Road School, he enjoyed every single day at the school. To our surprise, he has mingled so well with his new classmates. We are really thankful that the school and the pupils welcome him in such an inclusive way”

“My daughter had a wonderful time on her school residential trip and she has come back in a wonderful mood. I am sure it has done her a lot of good! Thank you so much for taking them, looking after them so well, and for making this happen in such difficult times”

“As the end of term approaches my husband and I wanted to reach out to express our thanks and gratitude for everything the school has done to support my children and ourselves this year. We had been particularly hard hit by the Coronavirus and the devastating consequences of the lockdown. As keyworkers, our offer of taking the boy’s full time was most helpful in our very challenging circumstances”

(Parent)

“We just wanted to say a very big thank you to you and your team who were at school (especially Mrs Gray) for looking after my daughter during this lockdown. Thank you all for coming in, when it hasn’t been clear that it is entirely safe to do so, putting yourselves and your families at risk. She has come out happy every day and she has been very lucky to have had the opportunity. Also, thank you for providing such lovely and stimulating lessons for the class and keeping them on track with such positivity and are.”

“We wanted to thank Mrs Pyatt for all you have done for the children over the past months. Her patience and calm nature has been incredible, especially considering all the changes you have all had to adapt to and increased workload. Everyone at the school = has transitioned so smoothly and she has made it look so easy, but I am well aware how challenging it has been. Nevertheless she has continued to engage and support the children throughout and the fact they are all so excited to return to school says a lot”

(Parent)

“I wanted to drop you a note to say how impressed I have been with the home schooling this week. I think it has been a tough week all round but the teachers I have seen have really gone above and beyond to make it work and found ways to muddle through all the technical challenges as we all get used to remote learning” (Parent)
“Many thanks to you, your staff and pupils for an excellent Christmas concert yesterday. The children were so happy and confident and a tribute to their school”

(Parent)

“I just wanted to let you know how pleased we are with the opportunity that our daughter, in Year 6, has been given as a school helper. We have never seen her so motivated! She is usually very hard to wake in the mornings, but this week she has been springing out of bed to head to Nursery for 8.30am. She loves being with younger children and has a great sense of purpose and responsibility with this role.”

(Parent)

“Just a quick note to say than you and congratulations on a very smoothly run and informative Nursery evening yesterday. I know a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make it seem so effortless so please pass on to the team how impressed I was.”

“Just to let you know the tennis sessions went very well. The children worked hard, were very well behaved and there was a great atmosphere at the club.”

(Sports coach)

“I thought Harvey Road School Cross Country runners did remarkably well yesterday in the inter-school competition. I’d like to thank Mrs Telfer again for organising and arranging. Watching the sincere effort the children put in, they all really dug deep right up to the finish line and they all did themselves and the school proud.”
