The school is made up of blocks of years known as key stages:

Curriculum subjects can be taught by lesson, in a block of time such as over a few days or thematically. Thematic teaching is where many subjects can be taught at the same time through a topic approach such as Samuel Pepys and the fire of London where subjects like Reading, Writing, History, Design and Technology and PSHE can all be taught together.
